Update #8

S By Shawn

I love how they are growing, taller in the back and shorter in front. I did NOT plant that either. You can tell but there is a white, a very light lavender, a dark pink, dark purple and one in the middle of the two.

spring has definitely arrived in shawn's house

M

Looove that. And also the perfect heights. Nice how that played out.

S
Shawn

I think I need ot dead head some. They are drying out. But I do not know if they grow back @cornne??? Any suggestions or tips?

U

All I recall is that they spread and spread. I really don't remember deadheading at all. And I hardly fed the plants. They lasted quite a long time and near the end got thin and spindly rather than dry and browning up. From your recent photo they look 'pretty-perfect' to me and the ones in the front are getting ready to get larger and fill out.

Kate

They're so beautiful. A nice thing about the AG's is that plants that wouldn't do so well here in Alaska, or would only be here for the summer can be enjoyed inside and all year. Do you still like the fragrance from these? I love fragrant flowers.

S
Shawn

Yes I do still like the smell

S
Shawn

Some of the flowers are drying up. So I think I am going to terminate this one. Would I grow it again, YES! I am going to start a new flower garden so I can enjoy it as I recover. I think I am going to plant something bright and fun.

M
MaryL

That’s a great idea for your recovery. Got any type in mind yet?

S
Shawn

I have some seeds coming but if they do not show up by tomorrow I think I will plant the Watercolor Silks Dahlias I have from Renees. I have coming Fairy Garden, Aloha Mix, and Profusion AAS Zinnia Mix.

K
Kate

Nice selection. That Aloha is really beautiful. I'm bummed about the Honey Scented Alyssum, though. I loved those flowers.

They're so beautiful. I wish I had scads of disposable money. I'd get a bunch of AG's.

M
MaryL

Ikr?! Plus, while we’re indulging in wishes, I’d like an entire grow room to go along with that. Plus custom stands/furniture/displays, and ample outlets to plug them all in. Anyone with a magical ponytail, now’s the time to do your thing. Shawn those are very pretty, and I like the colors you got more than what came in my packet.

K
Kate

When my last "baby", (age 21) moves out, I'm commandeering her room as a grow room and office. I'll put in a day bed for overnighters, but I want that room!

S
Shawn

WHen my daughter moved out, Mark took over the room for his office and music room.

K
Kate

Husbands.

S
Shawn

These continue to impress me. They are filling out really nice. @cornne, did you snip any out or do they continue to bloom and fill in?Pictures to come.

These are filling out. They also do have the scent of honey but combined with something else.

OMG!!!!! Beauty to Behold!!!! What of a fragrance?

K
Kate

Wow, so pretty. If I had more AG's, I'd do flowers.

S
Shawn

Every day these fill out more and more and have gotten a little taller as well. I am even noticing two colors in some of the pods which is nice. As for the fragrance, it is a nice honey one. I guess you can refer to it as a floral honey but not unpleasant.I do not want to over do the photos so will post one in a few days when it fills out more.

I know these do not get very high and they are only about 3/4 to an inch high but it appears that at least 4 (pictured are only three) are getting buds. Can this be? If so I am getting excited

Update #2

Actions taken

PestsDabbed green growth from the pods using peroxide on a cotton swab.

S By Shawn

These were quick to germinate, and are slower growers (at least right now). Yes there is some green on the pods. I have since taken a qtip with peroxide and gently dabbed it off.

I am looking forward to seeing the colors in this garden! All came up! YES!

S
Shawn

Dump and refill done as well as give nutes. Picture to follow.

Depending on how these grow I may (or may not) remove a pod or two. @cornne, any suggestions? Do you think 6 pods will be ok> Should I thin each pod if too many germinate?

U

First post on brand new Computer! Ta Da! I am downloading the camera driver so I can post some photos tomorrow. But yes...go for a full garden! I think they will bush out and mound out beautifully and be flor-ific! Can't wait to see some springy blooms!

S
Shawn

YAY! Are you enjoying the computer? I hope so!
