This little Sweet Heat has 6 peppers and they’re all well on their way to ripe. It had 7 before I pulled a ripe runt off last week.

I pulled the last two peppers off of this plant at the end of last week. All of them went home with my coworkers which fulfilled my hopes of this being a communal plant. The plant now has a single bloom on it. I’m sure it would produce again if I let it try. However, after I gave the peppers away I asked my team what I should grow next in the Sprout. They voted for basil next because there’s a strong desire among several folks to make pesto.After that they want me to try one of the AG Ghost Pepper pods that I just got in. I think it may be too big for the Sprout but I’m willing to give it a shot if they want to try. And if it doesn’t work out maybe it’ll do them some good to see me have a failed attempt. 🙂

PruningContinued regular pruning to maintain the compact office plant.
This plant continues to do well. I obviously prune it regularly. I find it to be a nice way to take a break at work. It garners a LOT more attention now that there are visible peppers on the plant. I’ve had a half dozen coworkers ask me about it in the past week. I’m sure that’ll only continue as the peppers get to their signature shade of red. 🌶

I’ve got 7 peppers growing very quickly on this plant. It seems healthy and happy in the Sprout which has surprised me a little. R&R today and fed with AG nutes.

This plant gets more attention than most because I stare at it on my desk all day. That means it’s being pruned within an inch of its life. It sure seems happy though. It’s got 7 or 8 peppers in process at the moment.

EquipmentRaised the light again as the Sweet Heat pepper grew.
I didn’t expect to have an update on this one so soon but I just had to raise the light for it again this morning. When I came into the office today I realized it had a productive weekend and I was just too busy to notice yesterday. I decided to prune some leaves that were blocking light to others. Post-trimming the plant is looking very ready for more growth. I also found the first flower, which I removed. Guess I’ll have to be the bee in the office soon.

Yes it is! It’s pretty amazing to watch plants grow in these gardens. With the right plants you really get to see rapid growth.

Hello and Welcome gina1104. Isn't this a nice looking Pepper Plant? I love Sweet Heat Peppers. They are a nice short plant and does grow fairly quick. I always have one planted at all times. If you do a search on the forum for Sweet Heat you will see many are growing them now. I hope you find the forum helpful and please ask any questions you may have

Returned to the office this morning to find a sprout in my Sprout!That seems fast for a pepper plant. Not sure what to chalk that up to but I’ll take it. 🙂

That is about right, at least from when I grow them. In about 6 days mine are usually above the label.

Since my office Sprout is now free, I’ve decided to go ahead with growing peppers at work. I know this will max out the Sprout but I *think* I can keep up with it. Off we go!
