What you can learnModerate value as a caution that celosia can quickly outgrow a Harvest after transfer, even when flowering successfully.

Actions:2 Transplant1 Equipment
Useful practices
  • start a replacement flower garden before an older display ends
  • move plants between AeroGarden units when reallocating space
  • clean and disassemble an emptied Bounty deck promptly
  • match mature flower size to destination unit
Problems encountered
  • flowers outgrew the smaller Harvest unit
  • grower needed to reduce the number of active gardens

Ended this one today. They got too big for the Harvest that I moved them to and I need to have fewer gardens for a while. I'll be ending others over the weekend.

Day 40: I've moved these from the Bounty over to a Harvest. There are flowers starting, but it is a lousy picture. Sorry! I have cleaned the Bounty in preparation for moving some of the GAL seedlings into the Bounty machines. I'm thrilled to report it was NOT a fight to disassemble the deck. Bob's your uncle, I think I've finally got it down, at least for the Bounty machines!

So....later in the day on Day 27, all of the Hippie Tie Dye plants fainted! Nothing changed. Maybe they are camera shy? Not knowing what was wrong, but gut telling me it is a bit warm in here. I've recently cut back on the time that the fan runs, but it wasn't yet off...I drained off a bit of the water and then added a few ice cubes to the bowl. Additionally, I raised the lights a lot. I propped up each plant using one of my little Garden "Gnomes" (ha, ha). Then I left them alone and watched a movie (Ghostbusters Afterlife, decent movie, better in the 2nd half...main gripe is they don't play the theme song until the end credit! What's up with that?? Later, we heard that Ivan Reitman passed...RIP! )After the movie, I checked on them and they had all recovered! I left the light up high and this morning they seem to be reaching for it. I think I'll keep adding ice in the afternoons...
