Grow log by ERR0R1755 · Original thread
What you can learnA clear example of a compact pea variety suited to a Sprout, including germination, flowering, pod formation, edible harvest, and seed saving.
Useful practices
- growing one pea per pod
- using a compact pea variety that required no trellis
- saving one mature pod for seed
- leaving desk space around peas to catch dropped petals and leaves
Problems encountered
- petals and leaves dropped around the unit near the end of life

an inspiring project, obviously! Looking forward.
Looking forward to the GAL! Looks like you are saving some seeds.
Ended this project!. There were still some edible pods on the plant that grew as the one I saved was drying out. Here's my self-survey:Plant Grown: Tom Thumb PeaGrow Method: AeroGarden SproutTime to Germinate: 6 daysTime to First Harvest: 35 daysTime to Last Harvest: 66 daysPlant Spacing: 2 per Sprout (67% usage)Final Height: 7-8 inchesWould I grow these again? Already planning to, you'll see the second generation in the GAL!Lessons Learned: I need to leave ample desk space around any pea plants I grow to catch petals and leaves.
Update #8
Looking tasty!
Very happy with this project - the peas are almost at end of life, I've left one pod to mature / dry out.
I've added these to my list to try. Looks like a good project for a harvest or sprout.
Update #7
Perfect! Get the wok ready! Or the salad bowl!
Pea Plants are beauitful (I know I say this all the time) and graceful they way they grow and the way the tendrils form and peas pop out.
Yay! Such a cutie. I found them delicious and with a great crunch just picking them off and snacking raw from the machine!
Update #6
I love the flowers on peas. It is a pretty growing plant.
To me, the peas produce beautiful leaves, flowers and, yes, even the tendrils are gracefull! Peapods soon!
