Which can be oddly therapeutic, lol. But as a practical matter I think it helps keep your plants from getting too tall and unwieldy for the machine.

I need to take pictures but I have several baby sheeps about the size of nickles. Also there are 4 huge cubanelles waiting to turn red and some smaller ones.

I have officially terminated the Sheepnose peppers. I removed the last remaining 3, The Cubanelles are in the process of changing to red and once done this too will be ended.

This project has officially been terminated! The last of the cubanelles will be used in the Chili I am making today.Unit has been cleaned sanitized and is ready for a new project. I have been up since 3am and yes I did all this in that time.This was a good Project!

The Cubanelles growing. You can also see in the fuzzy background a few others.I have to weed thru the very lush and tight leaves of the sheep to see if there are any peps growing there, Maybe tomorrow.

The Sheeps have loads of flowers and if I look in the centers I see the beginnings of a pepper. However they are fragile. I am carefully pollinating and hoping they do not fall off.

These things are dead set and determined to grow.On my year old Jalapeno plant, after a harvest, I'll cut off entire branches - thick branches - and three days later, I see new branch sprouts growing out of the former site.

I am giving these two plants another 2 weeks tops. If no peppers form then I will terminate and start anew.The Sheeps have TONS of flowers and the Cubanelles have one flower, several buds and one teenie weenie pepper.

Nothing much happening. The Cubanells have a ton of flowers as does the Sheeps. Only a couple tiny peppers still shown. I am watching to see if there is any growth. If not I will terminate both and start fresh next week.

As with your project here, my projects are going well ,BUT there is no notable progress to snap or relate.I guess that is a good thing if they are growing nicely, and are not failing or becoming an epic fail!

Cubanelles are growing again! The Sheeps have tons of flowers but some are falling. I have to take a good look at it to see if there are peppers.

Cubanelle Review:This pepper has a medium thick flesh and not too many seeds for the size of the pepper. It is sweet with a hint of tartness. Would be good in stir-frys or salads. This one was pretty true to the description with the description of flesh and for sizing most of the peppers are about 3-4" long.I will be using these with my next stir fry along with hot peppers... unless I put them in a salad first.

I picked the last of the Sheeps yesterday and stuffed them with Chicken Salad. YUM!!! Now I am awaiting the new ones to grow so I can eat more. My Cubanelles all all turning red. I have picked a few to put in with Marks lunch. Yesterday I fried two up and they were really good and put them on my chicken.

You really have me anxious for my Sheepnose to come up. Great taste testing on both varieties.

Great review, Shawn. I imagine cooking up the cubanelles intensified the sugars a bit.

I have more sheep flowersd growing but only one more Cubanelle on the plant. There is a flower too. I may end the Cubanelle once this last one turns red. Depending on if I see more Sheeps producing I may end that one too. If so, I will need to figure out what to plant next.

There are a lot of seeds however they are not hard to remove if you core out the top. These have a bowl look to them when cored. The pepper wall is thicker as is the ribs.It is funny I picked the last ripe one (that I was going to leave) and took a bite out of it JUST before reading this. I stopped to take the following pics to show. Keep in mind that there was a nibble out of it and then I cut it in half to show thickness of skin and ribs. Please disregard the messiness of the pepper.These are not the best pics but I hope they do.

One thing I've learned recently is that C. annuum have tons of seeds in them.

I went in on both plants to remove some old leaves and in doing so both plants have a lot of new clusters of buds

Your stuffed little peppers looked great, Shawn! Tasty I’m sure. These look ideal for stuffing for snacks or lunchbox. Maybe even roasting with cheese and stuff.

Yes I think they would. Please ignore the mess of mine but here is the Sheep and the Cubenelle together. I do cut off the huge and old leaves. I also turn my plants every few days so all areas get lighting.

The label will not stay on because the stem is thick. I place the paper towels there so my flying creatures hatch anything. I had a gnat that got in the house and when I went to pollinate new buds, I saw one sitting there. So instead of giving it a place to hang out I covered it up. I eventually caught it and killed it.

That paper towel idea is amazing. I've got a bunch of gnats around the pepper pot, and have been at a loss for what to do.

I usually do not have fliers around my plants but they do get in this time of year.I also make a solution that catches them (in time).Get a clear cup or taller bowl. Add 1 tbl sugar, 1 tbl apple cider vinegar. Mix well. Add water. When 3/4 filled add several drops of liquid dish detergent and add more water until you get suds on top. Leave out on a counter or table. Most of the time I will have the fliers at the bottom of the cup in the morning.These are other home remedies for catching gnats/fruit flies: (I have never used or tried them)pour leftover red wine into a jar.Mash up banana slices in a jar and cover the top with a plastic wrap.Pour bleach solution into the bathroom sink. This morning as usual I went to take a peek at my gardens only to be happily surprised to find not only are 4 Sheeps ready to be picked but 2 others in a day or so as well (there are even green ones growing). Also there are two hidden in the middle Cubanelles turning orange....But what made me happier is that all of a sudden I am seeing new buds/flowers. I had to pollinate a few on both today.

Anyone ever tried sticky cards made for plants/gnats? They are space savers and can be propped up at the side of the machine and the gnats are attracted to bright yellow and will go right to it and get stuck. They come with a little plastic stick, but a bit of creativity from AG-ers will come in handy, I am sure. I have had a box of them which has lasted me for at least 5 years.For some reason, I do not have gnats.There was a time when I had an indoor EB INFESTATION told about elsewhere and I won't gross you out here except to say... NEVER use the EB indoors.. Also I have potted plants on my sun porch and..gnat free as well! Mir Gro potting soil has gnats that fly right out of the bag and has eggs inside the bag of new product so watch out for MiracleGro soil products..they are a sure way to get gnats.Where do you all think they are coming from in your homes to get to your machines? Soil plants? Open screens/doors? Transplanted projects?

I do have those yellow sticky things. Mine are in the shape of a butterfly. I know mine are coming in late afternoon or night when I take the dog out. Thankfully we catch them and I only see one at a time every once in a while. I am not infested thank goodness. But even the occasional one drive me nuts.

The Sheepnose are ripening. There are also new buds and flowers growing.As for the Cubanelles, one is starting to turn red. I tried to get a picture but because it is still just turning it is hard to capture in a picture. So I will post one as soon as I can get a shot of it. There are also new flowers forming on this plant as well.

Mark is itching for me to pick this one and teat taste it. So later today I just might pick it.On the Cubenelle, there is one that is starting to turn the slightest tinge of a yellow orange but the camera is not picking it up.

Just did a taste test.The Sheepnose is a wonderful tasting pepper. No heat at all. They are hearty and sweet. Peppers would be great in a salad, stuffed or even pickled. These are a keeper. I am also going to save some of the seeds from my peppers to grow a 2nd generation at some point.

Sheeps are looking the same but get bigger. The Cubanelles had growth spurts. I turned the plants and I am finding fats one I know the Cubanelles go from a greenish yellow to a red. I will have to keep an eye out for Mark to test before it turns red.

The sheepnose are super cute. I'm growing (outside) the Round of Hungary pimiento Mike mentioned but each pepper has some weird blemishes so it's a bummer. Maybe because the seed was ordered in 2014 and is now susceptible to problems. I'm still consuming them, just cutting around the oddities, but I think I have to toss those seeds. So I'm very interested in how you feel these cuties taste because maybe they will be my replacement pimiento pepper.

My next open Ultra will grow Round of Hungary peppers. As soon as I clear the herbs garden.The peppers in this photo look wonderful.

I did a major trim on both plants. I cut off the rest of the huge leaves and some that were older looking. The Sheeps however were telling me to trim some as they were pushing on some and others were just plain in the way making them squished.
