FYI, I just did a complete dump, rinse and refill of the water. Did not add nutes yet. It best not mess up my GAL pepper either
Lastly if oyu think this needs to be terminated no problem, I can start a different pepper or grow herbs on this side.
I'm not sure here. It looks like it needs calcium and perhaps is a bit strong on the nutes. Or did you get this change after you added the mooch?
Mooch was added on Monday. 3ml. But this just happened today.
If it does not look any better tomorrow afternoon and/or no one has any ideas I will terminate this one. Only because it is in with my GAL. And I will start either a new pepper or herbs. But will wait until then.
Because they looked darker I am not chancing anything, so this has been terminated!
I vascillate on that decision, too, and like you I figure that the struggling leaves are just sucking energy, yet might not get better anyway so why keep them, Your younger leaves and new shoots are growing really nicely. Compare to your last picture 3 days ago, it’s quite a difference for 3 days. And now they’ll grow even faster without the competing unhealthy leaves. At least, that’s my best guess.

Just realized today is Mooch DAy, 3ml added.
I put 3 ml in at 4 and 5 weeks, 5 ml per week after that.
Yes I added 1ml to make it three for this one. Will follow your scheduling of Mooch for here on out!

I think you will be safe cutting there, because it looks like you will get 4 more new branches from it. I myself haven’t been topping my peppers lately because of how much it delays fruiting, but I recall this is one you are worried about getting too big. So, you can top there, but if it makes you nervous about it being too early, as a compromise you could just remove (very carefully) that teeny tiny sliver in the center on the top, hereIt looks like that would give you yet another 4+ branches. OTOH, it might not serve to limit the height as much as you want it to. A 3rd option is to wait 2 more days just so the top sliver will be more visible to cut. It’s a tough call, I know. If it were me, I think I’d go for the more liberal cut you were thinking to begin with. If you lose the plant, well, it’s one you were worried might not have worked out to begin with. But I do think it’ll be ok. When is your next feeding due?
I went a little more aggressive and cut at the red line.

I learned it from Corinne. And then I had to look it up to find out how to pronounce it, lol.
when the soil is warmed by the sun...if it is mature, late may. If it is weak, early June. I would start in early May to put it at a window or on the porch in the daytime to strengthen it gradually with the breezes. A fan will do that as well.
I am going to try that (as long as I can contain it until then)
What a fast growing pepper! And don't you just love a good Mystery??!!I would wait until around Mid May when the ground is warm and the sun is strong to plant in-ground vegetables. Frost is usually gone by late April. But you can play it by ear and see if the ground is sufficiently warm enough.I am in Zone 6B and plant flowers the last 2 weeks of May and wait at least until the very last week of May to put my maturing vegetables in my Earth Boxes. My neighbor plants tons of veg in the ground and says it is too early in may and waits until the heat of the first 2 weeks of June. But he plants seedlings.I would keep it in the machine, and if it is getting too tall, stick it in a pot and let it borrow light from the hood ubtil it is time to put it outside...or....keep snipping it down.But then again...i am no pepper person.

It does look a little tall for its size. I hope neither of you encounter problems, but based on past grows of these seeds it’s more likely you won’t. Fingers crossed!
I need to rethink this one. Maybe I will keep it maybe I will replace.Let me ask this? When can I plant this in dirt outside? Zone 7? Maybe I can start something else and then hold this in a shorter machine until then? Oh I don't know what to do
I reviewed the information on this and they are supposed to grow between 18" and 24".
I don’t know that you can tell at this stage that it’s going to be too big. It may just be that it’s a strain that is quicker to germinate and is fast out of the gate, but will still only get 18”-24”. And you can top it to be safe, too.
I pruned the two smaller ones out today. I have a feeling looking a the size already that this may be larger then it's supposed to be.
I am experiencing this larger size appearance with my Costa Rican Project. Your seedlings look great. I love it how they do their thing at night and surprise you all of a sudden.

I’d say I’m cautiously optimistic that yes, it’s growing already. It looks like it has a teeny growing component, and either the seed shell from it, or one of the other seeds. But the contrast is already clear.
Looking inside the Hot Pepper Pod, there seems to be something growing.
That sure was fast.
I know I even had Mark too to be sure
