As I said in a different thread. This batch of gardens have been neglected. But my day to day is getting back to normal so my upcoming ones should be better Here are my sad looking tomatoes.

I never have any luck with these tomatoes. Mine turn redder and redder and even start to split, but if I harvest them and slice into them, they aren't ripe on the inside. :(This may be my last batch of AeroGarden tomatoes unless there's an improvement. I'd rather give the space to something else if the tomatoes aren't tasty to eat.

Sher. When I first started over 4 years ago I tried to grow an AG tomato and it was so bad. I killed it. It grew maybe the size of a grapefruit. I chopped it to death. It was bad. So I never ever tried again until recently. Thankfully it took. If I who has always killed plants, flowers and herbs outside can do it you can too! With the AG I have grown many things thanks to members like @cornne, mike and MaryL who were the original members from the now old AG Forum we all belonged to prior to this one. If it were not for them and a few others I would never have tried cukes, beans and peas. So we all learn from each other. I have also since been able to grow flowers in planters outside now and have transplanted two pepper plants from the AG once fully grown and wanting space in my AG's to containers outside. My first year at the EB (Earthbox) was a fail but hey there is always this year. I took a year or was it two off from trying the AG because of surgeries. But I will be trying again.

Do the heirlooms get any taller? I have mine in a Farm XL with 3' of headroom and my heirloom tomatoes are flowering at like 6" tall >.>

Hi shevraeth, I grew the heirloom pod last Spring/Summer and I remember it being quite short, maybe 8" or 9" max. It got quite bushy. I also did no top or prune it or anything.

6 ml must be the perfect starter amount judging from your photo. (from the slow learner who has crisped, turned dark blue green, and otherwise tortured 4 tomato plants so far.) I have the Bounty full of a new lettuce crop, so last night I started seeds for 2 more Tiny Tim tomatoes that I plan to grow Kratky style. Please post as you increase nutrients. I'm taking notes!

I will. If you question if you are feeding to much, post pictures and we can help you figure it out. Sometimes there is an easy fix while others it may be too late. There are never stupid or silly questions

@shawn, I'm adding 4ml nutes to my two Tiny Tim plants in the Harvest. Book calls for 6 but my bed has only those two plants in it. My plants are doing fine. If you're only growing that one plant in that machine I'd say that 6 ml are way too much.

Shawn, thanks for the offer to help. But I would be way too humiliated to post pictures of my little monstrosities. They are way too far gone. I will post any problems I run into with the new seeds I'm starting. I have been reading about Aerogarden tomatoes and am confused because they need far less nutrients than AG recommends -- and yet I have read that the tomatoes are tasteless without adequate nutrients. I even called Aerogarden and they repeated the 8-8-12 recommendation for the Bounty. I wish I could be happy just growing greens. But I must grow at least one healthy tomato plant!

I have had no issues with the 6ml I was adding to the project I ended. I think I even went up to 7 with no issues.

To be honest, I really believe (I may be off) that the City water has a lot to do with it. I find that my projects burn like mad when I add the suggested nutrients and always have to g lower. If you look at the leaves on my Magic Blotch mimulus I posted this morning, you can see a slight browning along the leaf edges starting to happen...because I just fed the plants

I took a picture and will get it uploaded. I also thought I planted another tomato plant pod and I forgot. @cornne, do you think it is ok to get a pod in now? My Heirloom is only about 1.5" tall? I also need to thin out the two smaller plants.
