Based on the measurements that I take with my cheap TDS meter, my Diva is really sucking down the nutrients even though it is not consuming a lot of water. I recommend feeding based on TDS measurements rather than AG’s standard nutrient dosage schedule. The recommended TDS range for cucumbers is 1190 to 1750 ppm for a mature plant. I have been keeping mine at around half that for it’s first month and it seems to like it so far.
I try to keep up with my TDS meter, but it got down to 290 PPM when I checked tonight. I added another 7ml of nutes.

My Diva did a growth spurt into the light overnight after I fed it yesterday too. I do not plan to prune mine but I have a trellis set up behind it that I am going to use to try to manage it. The Bounty that it is planted in will give me two feet of height to play with.
I might be pushing this a bit with only one foot of height, but I'm hoping I can get it to grow over the sides instead.
they don't stay under the lights once it begins t vine, and then heads for a wall or the nearest thing to grab onto. Sometimes it will start with grabbing the AG light pole, but then it wanders.Also you may want to keep your eye on those roots in that small reservoir.
I am following to see the root density of this plant.Also, does this require pollination?
It is monoecious, so unfortunately, it does require hand pollination. I haven't tried manually pollinating a plant before, so I wanted to see how much work it would require.
Nice! One thing I am learning about cuke growing in the AG is that deck space doesn't even have to be considered because the plant trails all over the place anyway. As for roots..my Mini Munch had very little amount of roots, but the current Socrates is a monster and has roots that drink, drink,drink. Anyone tried clipping cuke roots mid project?
I haven't tried clipping roots, but I've heard from other people that have grown hydroponic cucumbers that you can reduce water usage by removing any lower leaves that are more than half-covered by an upper leaf. They aren't very useful due to being shaded out, but they'll transpire a lot of water as heat builds up in between the leaves.
I wonder if they are referring to outside hot sunny locations in the summer? The deck gets practically no heat in the AG. Big hoods in a tent for sure. Perhaps I am wrong.
I've done this before with my pepper and tomato plants in the AG because they've had the same issue, but it might be environmental. If you've ever seen the thing where your leaves get a bit of a "bubbly" texture and it's normally a lighter green and harder than the rest of the leaf, that's normally caused by the heat/moisture trapped between leaves.
The main problem I have is a yellow ring around the leaf edge, but I see that on all the hydo projects. I wish I knew what to do!
