I've heard that the Uzbek Golden is sweeter than most carrots! Sounds like a great carrot to grow.

Boy you could probably grow a good amount Kratky method in a large tub Just need to cut the bottom of the cage in halve so it will still hold the sponge but separate as the root grows.

Ended this today! I forgot to take a picture, but the carrot had almost reached the diameter of the pod.The pod itself was not damaged, but the very bottom portion of the carrot had started to rot from being in the water for so long. If I grew a hydroponic carrot again, I would try a method with more aeration (such as DWC) or harvest it at a smaller stage (like I had originally intended).

Sher and ERR0R1755, I am not sure why it does that with Mobile. I already have the pics shrink to 600px x 800px. I guess it is not Mobile friendly. I will see if there is anything I can do behind the scenes for Mobile viewing

Shawn, the display size is the right size. But when a huge file is uploaded, it takes as long to download as if the huge picture was being displayed, even though we just see the smaller file.The only way to stop it would be to limit file upload size, say to 1 megabyte.But that would prevent people who didn't know how to reduce file size from uploading their pictures, which might discourage them from posting.So, if the file deesn't load for me, it's my problem.I have a free photo editor app on my phone that lets me crop and resize.

if you are using a Android phone there is an app called send reduced. when you go to email your photo you can choose send reduce which will reduce the size to what you preset in the app, and then offer you the same options as you get when you first go to share. So just one extra step to share an image and it auto shrinks

I think you should cut the very bottom of the cage off now and mabye just secure thel cage legs with a rubber band. What was the days to matureity on that one you have growing? I have some Napoli F1 55 Days to matureity I can mail you if intersted? The 100+ days just take forever.. PM me you address and I can mail you some, just bought new stock for the comming season.

I appreciate the offer, but I am not a huge fan of carrots and I decided to grow this one since the seeds were included free with the rest of my order from Baker Creek It looks like this one is 60-75 days to maturity, but if I notice it risking any damage to the AG or the pod, then I'll harvest it early as a baby carrot.

I was not either till I found out you have to plant them in mid/late summer and harvest after a couple of heavy frosts have hit them. Then they are sweeter than baby carrots even as massive as that thing we pulled in 2020 I posted above.. Took a long time to get frost, that was pulled Dec 12 2020 (SouthEast PA) and was one of those early version left in way way to longer

TransplantMoved the carrot pod into an AeroGarden Sprout.

Moved this into a Sprout and added 4ml of nutes!

PruningThinned four carrot seedlings down to one.
Four seedlings came up, so I thinned it down to one. I will need to get a Sprout set up soon so that I can put it there.
