Update #6

Actions taken

PruningCut the biggest plants back heavily in an unsuccessful attempt to control height.

This photo from wikipedia shows what a crested celosia (coxcomb) flower is supposed to look like. I really wanted to grow them! However my plants that were supposed to grow 8-10" tall were getting massive. I cut the biggest plants way back, hoping the smaller ones would bloom. But now they are getting huge. Look at the size of these stems! So I don't plan to buy flower seeds from Seeds n Such again. These are going in the compost bin today.

Damn shame but live and learn. I know for me I have had many projects that were ended due to incorrect sizing, Also growing in an AG they can sometimes (so I hear) grow differently then spec'd out. Gives us more projects to try

Update #5

This plant is turning out to be an oopsie. They were supposed to be 8-10" tall, and already they are topping the Harvest lights. Also, the leaves near the lights are starting to crisp, and a small plant in the back looks droopy. It also looks like there is a hole in one of the leaves, but it is just two leaves together. I went over every single leaf to make sure! I plan to cut the plant back and remove the two weakest plants so hopefully it will grow sideways instead of vertically.

Fyi holes can happen from fingernails scissors and just moving leaves. I have some my fair share of all

I hope to see buds soon. The one in front was very tall until I turned it for a better camera angle.

They look alive and like they are on stage.

I bet these are the kind you could actually sit to watch them grow & notice the difference! Well, if you're living on Hawaii time, with nothing else to do!
