That lettuce looks crunchy. Was it at all crunchy? How about the taste? Bitter? mild? I am thinking of trying it after I hear of the taste. I dont know if it helps any for further growing, but I find that lettuce requires half the amount of nutes they recommend. I have burned more leaf edges from adding the suggested amount til I cut it in half. At times I just add 1 ml to a small machine and only 2 ml to a Bounty even.
I bet it was the nutrients then. I added one capful once the seedlings appeared (and reset the garden), and then I added a second capful once the plant food timer lit up. It didn't have any dead edges before the second capful...The lettuce is very tender, not crunchy at all. I've done a few Kratky grows of this lettuce, and it always looks crunchier than it ends up being, for better or for worse.It's a bit on the bitter side, but not too strong. I could imagine it pairing well with some finely diced radishes and a vinaigrette.If you want some seeds, I'd be happy to send some your way!
It definitely was the 2nd capfull in the Sprout. I will try them at a future date, but I have tons of my regular seeds to use up. Thanks, though , for your kind offer.
